You wouldn't guess it looking at me now (mostly because I'm hidden behind the anonymity of the internet) but I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan. I'm not even a fan of football but deep down I have instinctual link to the boys in Silver and Blue. I don't watch football except on Thanksgiving to watch the Cowboys play. And if I happen across a game... no matter who's playing I'm rooting for the Cowboys.
For the longest time I couldn't understand why... then I came across these pictures. As you can see at an early age I was indoctrinated into the life of a cowboy fan and even now the memories slowly make themselves whole in the fog of obscurity. Thanksgiving games mostly, just after the parade at my grandparents house.

welcome back, mr. t! for the record, i didnt know you had such healthy facial hair at such a young age.
The defense couldn't have served you too well against Philly. But then again, I suppose twenty points isn't too bad to give up, it's just not common for our defense. Good to have you on board.
Whoa Beth! I say whoa Beth! Always on Thanksgiving it's Detroit and Dallas. It's a good year to be a Colts fan.
Back in the 50's, a sportswriter said, "Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for U.S. Steel". I've always felt that the Cowboys were the football equivalent.
It hasn't been a fun season for me - the Titans are rebuilding, and the Rams can't play defense. So it looks like I'll be with Beth for the playoffs this year - it's time for Peyton Manning to get his Super bowl ring.
I actually woke up the night I wrote my post and said, "Wait, did I write the Saints?" I never came back, but I knew it was the Lions because they're my husband's 3rd favorite team and a good excuse to watch football on Thanksgiving.
Don't mind me, I'm nuts. LOL
And Dr, I would like to just profess my love for you now. Yes, it IS time for Peyton to get his Superbowl ring. We've waited a long long time! I've been watching them lose or not even make it to the playoffs since I became a fan back in 1999!
